I was quite surprised with this card. Applied at the store and was approved for the amex card with a $5800.00 limit. Had high utilization at application. Will pay everything down under 30% and will ask for an increase.

I love shopping at Macy's and haven't encountered the problems referenced by others. I like that Macy's stand behind their products and you can return an item for any reason! In fact, Macy's Customer Service has been great the times I had to call.

I had a Macy's account before they even issued cards. I have shopped in a store, by telephone and in more recent years online. Never ever had a problem of any kind. Returns are easy if necessary and almost immediately credited to your account. I have the Macy's AMEX card now which I upgraded from the store card that I used for years. If you carry a balance on your card the interest rates are high but I normally pay mine when due or within 90 days so that is not an issue. Overall I love this store and always have. Since I no longer live near a physical location the card makes it easy to shop plus the rewards are decent too and you get special offers on a regular basis.

I love this card! Once I found out you can request a credit increase every 30 days I've been more in love...lol. I first had the store credit card and then after some months they automatically upgraded me to the Macy's American Express. That card helped me out with my car repairs due to the credit limit they offered me at $1200. Just make your payments on time and they treat you right. I pay off the card the month I use it. You just have to be smart about your credit.

I love the red card! I can call every 2 months and they have no problem with giving me a CLI. I opened this card on 11/15 with only $100 available credit and a 721 TU score which was a surprise. But the increases paid off well with on time payments and paying more than the minimum payment. Remember! Always keep a small balance if you want that nice CLI.

Applied in store. Received a credit limit of $800. Then when I received the card in the mail I immediately requested a credit increase of $2800. They granted it. (no hard pull) Two months later I asked for $10,000 credit increase. They granted a $5000 increase to $7800. (HARD PULL!) Hope this helps!

Not sure what my credit score was when I applied in 2010 for the Macy's Star rewards card but I was approved 300. A year later I requested for a credit increase and was approved 300. Six months later they increased it from 600 to 1200. 2015 they increased it to 1500 and now my Credit limit is 1600..
As long you pay on time every month and pay your outstanding in a timely manner, they will increase your credit limit for you.. Also because I'm a elite member I paid my bill late one month and called customer service and they waived my late fee.. I love Macy's and their rewards.. Coupons are my fave..

I'm just a student working part time while in college so I don't make very much . I went to Macy's to buy a dress for a Christmas party. The sign up was a pretty quick process . I just selected store card, and I got approved for $800 . My purchase after all the savings only came out to about $47 dollars . I just got my bill 2 days ago and I got a 10 dollar new account discount so I only owed $38 dollars. Then I bought a christmas gift for a friend on my card as well. So I owed $136 and just payed off this afternoon.
I don't typically spend more than $100 at a time anyway so I doubt I'll ever use that much . I only signed up for the card because I shop at Macy's a lot and I saved a lot on my purchase . I don't even own any other credit cards I'll see how this goes .
I'm resubmitting this because my first review had some sort of glitch. My score has dropped 14 points since they did a hard inquiry so now I'm at 667. I'm hoping this will build my credit back up .

Approved in store. Had not used previous Macys card in several yrs, so it had been cancelled. Salesperson gave me Friends & Family discount on items that should not have been included. Nice surprise. Also was able to call to purchase items online the following day to take advantage of new card 20% discount (only offered first 2 days of card). Rec'd additional coupons with credit card in mail.
