I never have any luck redeeming for free cruise. I get the feeling that they do not put up regular sale pricing but instead jack it up to a ridiculous prices if you want to use the free cruise redemption. Statement credits and OBC are best use of points IMO. Much less hassle.

After years of using this card, I finally got the Chase Sapphire Preferred and like it so much better than the RCL Visa. I can earn 2X when I book my cruise. I can use the points and transfer to Southwest for my flights to port. I even use the points for hotel stays for a couple of nights.

You also get 20% points rebate when you book through their travel portal and I have found that the prices are pretty comparable with other TA and RCL itself. You also get primary auto collision insurance and there is no foreign transaction fee.

With the CSP, I can use the points for every aspect of my trip and not just the cruise or OBC part. Though I still have the RCL Visa, I no longer use it.
