Just got my card and here is my experience with the bonus points. After your first billing cycle, the points will appear in your rewards portion of the account. I plan to accumulate some more points and perhaps redeem for an OBC for the next trip.

I have always used my points for either OBC or to reduce the price of a cruise. I am now reading all of you using points to upgrade state rooms and I think I will be trying this out for my next cruise. First, I have to get to 60,000 points! Thanks for all the tips.

I am envious of all of you who are able to use 60,000 points for the room upgrades. Looks like it is the best way to redeem NCL points. My credit is not so great and I have a relatively low limit and there is no way I can earn that amount (or even 30,000). I guess it is still OBC for me.

I have had this card for about 7 months. My score was below 700 when I applied and I was given a small limit of $2000. I just requested a credit limit increase and was given a $5000 limit bump. Looking forward to using the points I have earned soon.

When I got my card a few years ago, it was just in time to redeem the 10,000 point bonus for a $100 OBC. On my next cruise, I also used points for OBC. What I learnt was that you cannot use it for gratuities and in the casino. You also lose them if you do not use them up. Since then, I have either used points for credits off cruise or if I have enough points, then for a room upgrade (which has the best value).
