Thought I'd chime in here. I applied when my score was about 740 and got approved for $3000 CL. Reading what others have said, I think just based on my score alone, I should have gotten a higher limit. But I think my student loans and the fact that I have opened 3 cards in the last 9 months counted against me. Hope this helps anyone that is applying.

I have been late a couple of times (happened before I set up autopay) and Chase always waived the late fees. ( also pay in full so I guess I did not pay any attention as to whether they raised my rates or not (probably not is my guess). If you pay in full, this card is simply great for it's rewards.

Approval was relatively easy and quick for me. I got the "you are approved" screen after I pressed the submit button on the online application page. Before this, I only had 2 cards. One was the old Amex blue cash and the other was a Wells Fargo card since I have a checking account with them. I cannot comment on their CSR since I have never called them before. But I am happy with this card so far. I find myself mainly using this and the old blue cash to earn cash back.

Score was around 700 when I applied. CL was $4.5k. Recently, I just got a Discover card and I think the rewards are kind of the same though I preferred the shopdiscover feature much better Chase. Will update you guys on which card I prefer when I use the new one long enough.

I regret not getting a regular credit card when I was a student to build my credit. After college, my first card was the Capital One secured version. Very soon, I got preapproved for a BOA Visa because I bank with them. I then decided to get this because I was attracted by the rewards. Applied online and was approved immediately with a $2.5k CL with a score in the high 600s and perhaps just at 700 depending on which score it was.

Years ago, I had problems with my credit and have a couple of collections on my report. Once they dropped off, I applied for this and got approved. My score was about in the high 600s across all 3 bureaus and I got a small $1.5k CL. I really cannot complain because a couple of other cards I got gave me kind of similar CL ranging from $1k to $3k.

Have an Amex and finally decided to diversify and get a Visa. Ended up choosing this one after much research. I have no regrets about it. While some people complain about it, I actually quite like the quarterly 5% rewards. Amex does not have it. So this card is great when a store tells me that Amex is not accepted and also when I can use the 5% rewards for the item I am buying. The CL that I got was ok 9$8.5k). But I honestly thought that with my score, I should get a higher limit?

Applied and was denied due to "insufficient history". After moving cities due to new job, I opened a Chase account. After about seven months with Chase Bank, my banker told me to consider getting their cards and he said that based on my account, I could probably be approved. So I applied and was approved though nothing has really changed as far as my credit score goes. It looks like having a banking relationship with Chase does help.

I applied for this when I had only about 9 months of credit history. I was denied. So I called the backdoor number for reconsideration and was told that I needed at least one year on credit history. But I decided to call them again a week later. The CSR told me the same story but said he would try to see if he could do anything. He asked me to verify my income and must have put me on hold for at least 10 minutes. When he came back on the line, he told me that I was approved for $500. The CL is small but I am very happy I got this card as the rewards look very good.

I applied for this card and the Citi cash back card at the same time. Was approved for Chase, but not for Citi. Insufficient credit history was given as the reason for the decline in my Citi app. But I got this card with a decent limit which I am very happy about.

I am very happy with this card. The 5% rewards work out great for me. Mostly, it is gas, restaurants and the amazon.com shopping. They do change every 3 months though. I got a decent limit which I only use half and I do pay in full every month so the 18% (or so) APR does not bother me at all. The only time I used customer service was to inform them of an overseas trip and also to ask questions on the car insurance and I was happy both times as they appeared polite and was able to answer my questions. The only things I wish was that Chase would automatically enroll you in the 5% rewards (you actually have to enroll quarterly).

Back when I was approved, my Experian score was 682. I got approved for $2,500. After a couple of years, I got the Amex Blue Cash and also a Discover. I use all three but I think I love the Freedom the most. The reason is that it is not just a cash back card and you can redeem it for other things like gift card whereas the other two that I have are more pure cash rewards (if you know what I mean). These days, I use it the most among the three cards that I have, especially during the Holiday season when they have 5% rewards on things like shopping at Amazon.com and other department stores.

With a score of about 700, I thought my credit was OK. So I applied and got approved for $2.5k, which I thought was fair. I am into my first year as a part time student and the CL is enough for me (though I have another card). My income is in the mid $40k.

This was the first card I applied with Chase. Prior to this, all I used was my Amex and I lived with the hassle of places not accepting Amex and me having to either pay cash or leave the shop because I never had any Visa or Mastercard. I finally decided to get a Visa or sorts and ended up with this. With my score, the credit line was what I expected. So far, this card is working out well.

This is one of two Chase cards that I have. The other one is the Chase Sapphire. I use both cards. The Freedom is for the 5% categories. Gas and Amazon are my favorites. The Sapphire is mainly for dining. My reward program for the two cards are the same and combined. I have been happy with Chase and this is the best card combination for myself (and I pay no annual fee for both these cards). My CL for the Freedom is $8k and it is the same for the Sapphire. So in total, I have $16k in total CL with Chase.

I got this card because I wanted a Visa in addition to the Amex Blue Cash that I have. After using both cards, I have come to rely on my Blue Cash more. But, to be clear, my Blue Cash is the old one where you get 5% on gas, groceries and drugstore after you spend $6.5k from your anniversary date. The thing that I like about the Freedom is that during the 4th quarter, the 5% category gets interesting. Very often, you can get 5% at amazon.com, Best Buy and other department stores and for online shopping as well. It saves you quite a bit during Christmas shopping though you are capped at $1.5k for the 5% spending. Overall, I still prefer my Blue Cash though this is a handy Visa card to have.

I applied via phone the first time and got denied. I really did not have any credit history then and was told that was the reason. I have opened a Chase checking account and got their debit cards. About 9 months later, I got a letter saying I was pre-approved. I applied and got approved for a $500 CL. Since I am young and still a student, that would be enough for me. I have read in many places that you could get approved only if you have great credit. But my experience says otherwise.

I have both the Chase Freedom and the BA Visa. Also have the Amex blue cash. During the first 3 years of having the card, I used it a lot and was very diligent about the 5% rewards. But for the last 3 quarters, I have not "signed up" and hence have not been really earning those 5%. I tend to use my Amex more these day. I wish Chase would stop requiring us to sign up for the 5% rewards thing. I will still keep the card because I use it when Amex is not accepted. And my CL is quite good as well!

When I got the card, I thought it was simply a cash back card. But I later found out that it was actually a rewards card where points can also be redeemed for cash back. I was not sure if I was going to get approved for it. But with a high 600 score hovering close to 700, I got approved and the CL was OK.

I read somewhere on this site that you could combine your chase rewards into one account. I got this card first. Then got the Chase sapphire. So this card is used for the 5% category and I use the Sapphire for dining (which gets me 2X). Between the 2 cards, my CL is $11k.

I had previously gotten the Chase Slate when they had a great 0% BT deal. Having paid off the balance and being free of any credit debt now (I pay in full and it feels great), I was looking for a rewards card. I decided on the Freedom as I was quite happy with the Slate. My CL was about $2000 on the Slate so this gives me an additional $3k on my total lines with Chase.

I got this card after my second attempt at applying. The first attempt was 2 years ago when I was in the midst of recovering my credit after a couple of late payments and other stuff. Once it was cleaned up, I got approved for a Cap One card with annual fee. Used it and always PIF. I am pretty happy with the CL I got and since my CL with CapOne is very low, I cancelled that card.

I was applied this card 5 years after my BK discharge (which was still on the files). I was declined but I decided to call the recon backdoor line. I was questioned on my present income and how I intended to pay the card off. I told the CSR that I intended to pay in full. I was put on hold for a while but then approved with a $1,200 CL. My score then was barely at 600. The rate was 22.99% so I am definitely paying in full every month.

I guess due to my short credit history, I was only initially approved for $500. I called CSR and asked for the reason of my low lines. After answering a couple of questions on income etc, I was told they would have to do a hard pull on my credit again. But the good news was that the CL was increased to $5000. So no complaints here.

I contemplated between this and the discover card. Part of what attracted me to the card was the 5% I would get during the holiday season for online shopping. I got this card to use as my primary card after ditching my Delta Amex. I have decided to stop earning miles and just earn cash back. I guess I will save on those annual fees too. I was relatively "new to credit". Prior to getting approved for this card, I got a couple of secured cards. The first was from my bank BOA. The second was from Orchard Bank. I decided to get this card as my true first unsecured card. I got the initial message that "I will receive a decision in 7 to 10 business days". So I called the recon number at 1-888-245-0625 and was put through CS rep who told me that I was denied and reason was my relatively new history. But after looking at my files again, I was approved for $500. Though it is a small amount, it is a big deal to me as this is my first "real card".
