Carnivals for the week of 5th February 2007
I was involved in a few carnivals this week. Here is a rundown of my participation and articles that caught my eye this week.
Simple Dollar hosted the 86th Carnival of Personal Finance. There were a few credit card related post. One of them was by BluePrint for Financial Prosperity on paying off credit card debt with a home equity line of credit. I wrote a similar post Transfer HELOC to a 0% Balance Transfer Credit Card, which you may also want to check out.
Endless Gibberish hosted the 9th Festival of Under 30s Finance. One of the interesting post was by Beacon Financial Tips who titled a post called “Would you overpay cable or telephone bills?”. Well, the article was started out by asking if you would overpay on your cable or phone bills? She conveniently assumes you would not and then went on to say then why should you overpay your taxes via withholding more than your should. I beg to differ, but as I pointed out in my last post Is Bundling Your Entertainment Service Worth $100?, many people do indeed OVERPAY for their phone service (even if it is VOIP!).
Making Our Way hosted the 1st Edition of the 30s and 40s Wealth Accumulation Carnival. There were a variety of interesting post which you should definitely check out.
I also participated in this week’s carnival of debt reduction, but as of now, the hosting site appears to be down. I will point you to the site once I confirm that the site is up and running again.
