Circuit City Credit Card Review
Update - Since Circuit City went bankrupt, cardholders of the old Circuit City credit card has been taken over by Best Buy! But if you go to Circuitcity.com, you will find their website well and alive! What is happening here? Well, though Ciricuit City technically no longer exist, Systemax, who also owns CompUSA and TigerDirect.com bought the domain circuitcity.com and is now running it as an online store. So though Circuit City has no physical store, it has an online store. And even though their credit cards no longer exist, you can still earn rebates at circuitcity.com, compusa.com, tigerdirect.com (all Systemax owned) with the Discover More Card online shopping portal shopdiscover.com. Below are screen shots showing you these merchants (since you cannot see them if you are not a card member).
The Citi Dividend World MasterCard also has Circuitcity.com, compusa.com and tigerdirect.com as their online merchant partners on their Citi Bonus Cash Center online shopping portal.
So if you want to shop at circuitcity.com or other Systemax online properties like compusa.com or tigerdirect.com, then you should consider cards like the Discover It Card, the Discover Student Card, or the Citi Dividend World MasterCard. The Discover Cards are better because you can get 5% rebates vs 3% for Citi.
So that really is the whole story of Circuit City. I reviewed their credit card when they still a viable entity and a going concern. So I've left it here below for anyone who want to look back at this card or for research purposes.

You can also choose the "auto redemption" function whereby a $5.00 gift certificate will be sent to you once you have accumulated 500 points. You can earn unlimited Circuit City points.
Fees - The Circuit City credit card has no annual fee. The apr is prime rate plus 9.49% or 11.49%. The 2-cycle average daily balance method (including new purchases) is used to calculate monthly balances.
Verdict - The Circuit City Credit Card is one of the better "retail store credit card" because they allow you to earn 5 points for every dollar you spend at Circuit City or circuitcity.com. You can also redeem unlimited points. Bear in mind that if you opt for one of their special financing deals, you will not earn 5 points per dollar spent. This card will suit those who shop frequently at Circuit City and would like to use their reward points to get even better deals there. One of the attractive feature of this card is that you can get your gift certificate for as little as 500 points.
